Why I want YOU to read my novels:

Readers are the basis of any writing career.  Editors and agents can offer plenty of useful feedback, but a successful author is one who entertains non-professional readers.  When someone tells me that he/she missed work, school, or sleep because they were turning pages of my book, I feel as though I've already sold a million copies.

Before I place the fate of my manuscript in the hands of literary agents or publishers, I want to make sure that it will sell; that I have a right to believe it can.  An extra pair of eyes is always helpful, to find typos and inconsistencies that I may have missed even after multiple edits.  And, of course, I want to see how people react to my stories.

If you're willing to offer feedback on the first chapter (or more) of any of the novels listed below, please send me an email!  I will be sure to include you in my "Thank You" page.

Thank you for your interest.

Torth Book 1: City of Slaves
First draft completed in 2002, final draft to be completed in 2011. As the flagship novel of a linear series, the beginning needs to be outstanding!
Some Context: I attempted to sell the first version in 2004. Baen's Books requested a rewrite, and a well-known literary agent got excited about the first three chapters, but did not follow up. After I went through the Odyssey Writing Workshop, I embarked on a massive rewrite, completed in 2007. You can read about my rewrite frustrations here and here.
If you're willing to offer feedback on this novel, or help me attract the attention of a literary agent or publisher, please let me know! I need all the help I can get. I will add you to my "Thank You" page, and I'm willing to review your work in exchange (up to a certain point--I can be picky about what I enjoy).
Word count: 114,000 (approximately 460 pages in paperback).

Torth Book 2: Caves and Canyons
First draft completed in 2002, edited in 2009. I would love additional feedback.
Word count: 110,000 (approximately 440 pages in paperback).

Torth Book 3: The Dead City
First draft completed June 2009, edited in 2010. Feedback is welcome.
Word count: 128,000 (approximately 512 pages in paperback).

Torth Book 4: World of Wreckage
First draft completed August 2010. Feedback is welcome.
Word count: 104,000 (approximately 416 pages in paperback).

The Illusionist
My only stand-alone novel, and the first novel I wrote as an adult, completed in 2001. While the feedback was mostly positive, I don't want this light Young Adult novel to be my debut. So it is shelved, for now.
Word count: 60,000 (approximately 240 pages in paperback).
