LANDSCAPES, BUILDINGS, and PROPS
Landscape sketching and painting is a very relaxing activity, and (if you want to draw from life), it involves a healthy bit of traveling.

Thumbnail Description
Choiunard Hall at CalArts, pixel pushed I made this using Paintbrush on my 486 computer, while staring out the window of my CalArts dorm room during my freshman year.
A quick, low-color, image that Abby did of Cal Arts.  If you've ever been there, you'll see how amazing this is... if not, your loss! - Larry

Yeresunsa Chapter House This is a Work-in-Progress.  I wanted to see if I could paint like the Gnomon Workshop masters and do my own book cover.  Life got busy, but I think this is one I'll be proud of when it's completed.  It's a view of Cove Legraud, the setting of my novel The Illusionist.
Nubble Lighthouse, York, Maine Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine.  I drew this during the summer of 1996, my senior year in high school.
Railroad Bridge, Bedford, New Hampshire This railroad bridge crosses the Merrimack River, near Manchester, New Hampshire.  I often walked on Heritage Trail (where I saw this view), but I never saw a train on those tracks.
Lake Massabesic, Manchester, New Hampshire Lake Massabesic supplies water to the city of Manchester, New Hampshire.  It's also a recreational lake.
Hampton Beach, New Hampshire During my high school years, I would often go to Hampton Beach during summer vacation.  This is the largest public beach in New Hampshire.
Venice Beach, California Venice Beach, California. (colored pencil)
A boat at Cabo San Lucas Boat, sketched at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Los Angeles skyline This is the Los Angeles skyline as seen from Exposition Park, 2000, sketched in ink inside a museum cafeteria.
Tissue, anyone? Tissue, anyone?  This still life in acrylics was painted for a class assignment.

Winter yard This winter yard is a background layout for a class assignment.  I drew it from memory, in charcoal.
